01 - Nature (Soul/Environment)

Organizational leadership analysts like Deming, Herzberg, Maslow and McGregor consistently state that productivity improves as an office creates a more humane, ethical, purposeful environment—an environment where employees not only understand the big picture mission and their own unique function in it but also feel a part of the organization and are appreciated for their contributions to it. This is known as a “purposeful family” environment, where mission, purpose, civility, humanity and teamwork create success.

As just stated, an immense amount has been written about how to create the successful organizational environment. The simplest, easiest way that I have found to summarize, condense and be able to remember the key necessary components of a “purposeful family” environment is to let the acronym “TAP into CCHI” become your mantra.

The keys to TAPing into the organization's CCHI are for leadership to be seen personifying the organization's goals, and to hire staff that has the personality and skills to internalize and actualize the mission. In order to reach this state of actualization, new staff must possess PHACES; the intake, exercising and praising of these nutrients develops a powerfully fit organization.

Testimonials
One organization’s annual business cycle is such that one particular month is roughly three times as busy and hectic as the other months. The organization has named it “mint month” and the staff are provided unlimited mints both to lubricate their throats for a lot of sales talk, and just as a “pick me up.” Management says that since “mint month” was instituted stamina, attitudes and sales remain strong the entire month whereas previously they would fade near the end of the month.

Such traditions can become critical cornerstones of organizational nature.
