“Failure to Thrive” is the psychological phrase that applies to newborns and infants who are ignored and provided no mental, physical or emotional stimulation. The brain and muscles are not exercised, are given no stimulus and, consequently, become bored, lethargic, shrivel and die. Small trees that touch another tree or tall grass are stimulated and motivated to grow faster than trees that touch nothing. Organizations that become monopolies and are no longer stimulated by competition become inefficient, bloated and collapse.
Physical, mental and emotional growth depends upon stimulation, and obviously, the more constructive the stimulation, the more positive the results. Human and organizational development literature consistently discusses seven key contributors to healthy growth; or, if you will, there are 7 PHACES of Growth in healthy, thriving organizations.
Nurturing PHASES personality types through the 7 phaces of development creates actualized staff who are invested in, motivated and empowered to maximize the organization.
