| What is the purpose, the vision for Fit For Service? |
| The vision of Fit For Service (FFS) is that people and organizations will be motivated to operate more efficiently so that they can invest their savings in a philanthropy of their choice. FFS hopes to promote this process by offering 81 specific suggestions that can help facilitate improved efficiency. |
| Does the Fitness Plan work? |
| Yes. Numerous organizations have implemented various elements of FFS for various periods of time. Most organizations report improved efficiencies in the 10-25% range (If your organization's operating budget is $1M, FFS could help reduce it by $100,000 to $250,000) a portion of which could then be donated to philanthropies. Some organizations report considerably more significant results. |
There are several principles of quality management that have been developed by management experts and quality leaders, and have been implemented and proven successful by numerous “most effective” organizations. Fit For Service has converted these principles (having a clear mission, bottom-up empowered environment, constant process analysis and improvement, performance measuring, etc…) from “theory” into a “catchy” (your organization is a living thing that can adopt a healthy lifestyle) “real life” (81 real, quick and easy suggestions) program for implementing these proven principles.
|
The plan seems kind of complicated. There are 81 things to do across 12 “parts” of an organization. There's Diet. There's Exercise. There's Self-Esteem. It's complicated. Can it be simplified?
|
Sure. FFS is not a rigid, “do exactly this” program. FFS is a suggestion; a recommendation that can be used or adapted as you wish to help you develop whatever program works best for your situation.
Implement FFS any way you wish, and your organization will improve. Period! |
| Why should my organization adopt the FFS plan? |
To save/make more money, probably 10-25%, or more.
To give some of that money to a philanthropy of your choice; to contribute to the world in a manner of your choice. To give your organization and its staff a sense of purpose, a plan for success, pride in accomplishment; as one FFS advocate put it, “a reason to get up and get excited about the day.” |
